On Saturday, February 8, 2009, we sailed out of Galveston, Texas, headed for a week-long cruise of the western Caribbean. Galveston is John's old home town. We left behind the muddy water of Galveston Bay, and still too much remaining damage from Hurricane Ike, for the open Gulf of Mexico...

We splurged and stayed in a room with a balcony,
Room 10-35, on Deck 10, The Panorama Deck...

(That's Elizabeth on our balcony)

Here is the ship's lobby and the hall areas,
with the cool glass elevators and the colorful carpet...

The Lido Deck (Deck 9)
Where the party was happening day and night...

↑ (Cool ice sculpture demonstration)

Dinner nightly was in the Monet Dining Room...
Where we gained at least 10 pounds each (mainly due to our nightly doses of warm melting chocolate cake - YUMMY!!!)

↑ With our waitress, Amela, from Croatia...
She was GREAT!!!

↑ With our nightly dinner companions...

Bethany & Andy ~ honeymooners from New York
