Day 4 of the cruise brought us to our first destination:
The water was a really beautiful shade of blue!
And it was really nice to look out and see land again after three days at sea with just the
Gulf of Mexico as far as the eye could see.
We landed at the Port of Montego Bay, Jamaica, and boarded our tour bus for
Dunn's River Falls. Our guide told us a lot of interesting
stories along the way about life on Jamaica and their history. It was a two hour bus ride,
so we enjoyed seeing the scenery as we rode along, though there were a lot of signs of poverty
mixed in with the natural beauty of the island.
On the drives to and from Dunn's River Falls, we stopped
at Yow's for a potty stop and to get something to drink. It was just
a little dive of a restaurant and bar, but it was right on the beach and the scenery was just beautiful!!!
We also discovered our inner Bob Marley's while we were there...
At Dunn's River Falls...
Dunn's River Falls were just beautiful, though it pretty much rained
on us the whole time that we were there. It really didn't matter, since you go to
Dunn's River Falls to climb them — which means getting
very, very wet!!!
The falls were steep and slippery, so we spent a lot of time holding hands with
perfect strangers to try to keep all of us from falling. At the end of the climb, we got to pose
under the congratulations sign — and we deserved it!!!
The flowers and greenery were just beautiful...
Back in Montego Bay we stopped to do a little shopping...
As we left port that evening,
Elizabeth enjoyed a final view from our balcony...
